We’re reaching out to provide an update on import shipments arriving at the US East Coast ports of Newark and Philadelphia.

Import volumes have recently increased at the US East Coast ports of Newark and Philadelphia, and this trend is expected to continue through the end of Week 28. While this uptick is notable, our terminal operations teams confirm that flows remain fluid, with no current issues related to congestion or extended dwell times.

To maintain operational efficiency and avoid potential congestion, we will be temporarily restricting inland mode changes from rail to truck for cross-border shipments moving from the US East Coast into Canada. This restriction will remain in effect until the end of Week 28.

Beginning Week 29, requests to switch the inland mode of transport from rail to truck will once again be permitted.

Please note the following:

  • Bookings already confirmed as truck cross-border moves to Canada will proceed as scheduled.
  • Exceptions will be granted only in cases where containers are overweight for rail transport and must be moved by truck.
  • We will continue to monitor port and inland operations closely and will provide further updates if any changes are required.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure service continuity and operational fluidity across the network.
