We are pleased to introduce an enhanced, fully automated solution for Bill of Lading (BL) Transfers to a destination or third-location customer via our website, effective 24th March. This long-awaited feature ensures a seamless, instant, and efficient transfer process, eliminating delays and manual interventions.
What’s Changing?
Customers can now place a Bill Transfer request directly on our website, which will be processed instantly with the applicable charges. Once the transfer is completed, the new transport document receiver can instantly download and print the BL at their location, provided they have a signed web agreement with Maersk.
Key Features & Detail:
- Instant Bill Transfer Processing: Customers with a signed web agreement can initiate and complete BL transfers instantly.
- Eligible Bills: Available for Negotiable Bills with a Named Consignee (not applicable for "To Order" Bills).
- Automated Charge Application: The new transport document receiver will be defaulted as the payer for the service fee, with an option to update the payer and payment terms.
- Real-Time Notifications: Shippers and consignees will receive instant updates once the transfer is completed.
- Immediate BL Download & Printing: The new transport document receiver can download and print the Original BL instantly.
- Deactivation of Destination Release Feature: The existing destination release feature on the Shipping Instruction journey will be deactivated.
Note: For customers submitting shipping instructions via INTTRA/EDI, the process remains unchanged. However, the Transport Document Issuance Service Fee will be applied for these shipments as well.
