Considering the operational difficulties seen at Durban port, Safari service has been subject to an accumulation of delays. We are forever striving to improve cargo delivery for our customers in the face of challenging circumstances, but even slight disruption can cause a ripple effect and lead to substantial setbacks.

The situation in Durban is driven by several factors, including local congestion in terminals and adverse weather conditions; and while Maersk is doing all in its power to combat the circumstances for customers, a decision has been made to blank the SAN FERNANDO 425N to recover the schedule. We have also needed to downgrade our vessels coming into SAF from FEA so that we can maintain a weekly service and secure schedule reliability back to the Far East.

Unfortunately, this reduction in capacity has affected our ability to load dry ladens from Durban on our safari vessels as previously committed. We will need to cut and roll cargo for the next five sailing to fulfill what is currently booked in our system.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we strive to bring back normal service to you by Week 36/ WK 37.

We look forward to continuing working with you in the future. If you have further questions, we encourage you to visit www.maersk.com or consult with your local Maersk customer service representative.

We want to thank you for your business and look forward to continuously serving your global transportation needs.
